I would like to update you on something that the Trustees have been looking at to improve the Community Centre and to make it more attractive both to hire and to attend functions there.

We are looking at a number of ideas, one of which is to extend the bar area to accommodate more people on busy evenings, and to make it a nicer place for members to come along to with their families.

Currently the Sports & Social Club provide the most revenue over a year back to the main committee and it is for this reason that we feel that by increasing the bar area, this could in turn increase profits, which we can then use to update the heating system in the main hall, and make any other major refurbishments that will need doing.

We do not want to do any of this without you, the people of the three villages having your say as to what you would like to see done at the Community Centre, what can we do to encourage you to use it?

To that end, during January, we will be coming round with a questionnaire which we would like you all to take a few minutes to fill in. About a week later we will come back and collect it, very much like we did with the Parish Plan all those years ago...... actually it was only 2006!!

Please answer the questions, and make any comments that you feel are relevant......after all, the Community Centre belongs to everyone, we are merely looking after it on your behalf.

Sports & Social Club

Membership

Members of the Sports & Social Club Committee will be shortly be knocking door-to-door, throughout the villages, inviting people to renew their membership or to take out membership of the Sports and Social Club. The £5.00 membership gives an entitlement to reduced prices on drinks at the bar.

Money raised through membership goes towards the many costs of maintaining the Community Centre Hall and Playingfield.

The Sports & Social Club Bar is open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 8.00pm.  If you’re a member you can take advantage of a cheap pint!  Children are welcomed if accompanied by an adult.

Even if you don’t wish to use the bar, please consider buying a membership to support these important local facilities.

AGM – Advanced notice

The AGM of the Committee responsible for managing the bar takes place on Tuesday, 12th January 2010 at 7.45pm in the Community Centre.  All welcome.
